Candle Care

How to care for your Mila and Olive candle.

To ensure the best experience with your candles, follow these simple guidelines:

Trim the Wick: Before each burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This helps prevent soot and extends the life of your candle.

First Burn is Key: The first time you light your candle, allow it to burn until the wax pool reaches the edges of the container. This process, known as achieving a full melt pool, prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn in future uses.

Burn Time: Do not burn your candle for more than 6 hours at a time. Prolonged burning can lead to overheating the container.

Avoid Drafts: Place your candle in a safe, draft-free area. Drafts can cause uneven burning and excessive smoking.

Keep it Clean: Avoid letting wick trimmings or other debris fall into the wax pool, as this can affect the candle's burning quality.

Extinguishing Your Candle: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle. This prevents hot wax from splattering and minimizes smoke.

Safety First: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials.

Cool Before Relighting: Allow your candle to cool completely before relighting.

Storage: Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve its scent and appearance.

Recycle or Repurpose: Once your candle has fully burned, consider recycling or repurposing the container.

By following these care instructions, you can enjoy the full beauty and fragrance of your candles safely and to their fullest.
